Statistics of asylum seekers for 2017

Yesterday, the BAMF head Jutta Cordt and the German Interior Minister de Maziere presented the statistics for 2017:

186,644 new requests for asylum in 2017
compared to:
280,000 new in 2016
890,000 new in 2015

The asylum requests submitted in 2017 took on average 2 months.

4 out of 10 requests are accepted (mostly temporary status as recognized refugee).
